Effective & economical solutions in Environmental Management
On the Industrial side, we have
undertaken site investigations into radioactive contaminants as a
result of refining processes; industrial compound spills including
PCB's. All projects have resulted in us conducting site remediation
activities for our clients.
SRS undertook a site investigation of soil and groundwater commencing
in 1997 at an inner city property. SRS assisted in the site's
rehabilitation and continue today to monitor groundwater in compliance
with EPA clean-up requirements.
SRS undertook a major bioremediation composting project for the reduction of sludge at a former refinery. Approximately 12,000m3 of petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated tank bottoms sludge was remediated over a 13 month period.
In recent years SRS have
undertaken soil and groundwater investigations as far afield as
Esperance and Geraldton in WA and as far north as Gympie in South
Eastern Queensland.
SRS also undertake site investigations on a regular basis in Tasmania,
Southern NSW, Canberra and South Australia.
SRS have been to the Middle
East, Oman and The UAE at the request of clients to advise on several
remediation projects requiring our bioremediation expertise which we
have gladly assisted in.
SRS does not have offices outside of Victoria, nevertheless, we
maintain a 9 tonne service vehicle and trailer mounted drill rig for
mobilising staff to interstate projects. We also maintain the necessary
environmental sampling and testing equipment to undertake these
investigations without the need to hire from other sources. This allows
us to achieve a client's timeframe expectations without the need to
accept delays from outside suppliers.
Our rapid response to our client's needs is a result of the laxed approach of other state's OH&S regulations. The liability aspect to Company Directors does not diminish over the border and therefore the highest standard of protection is maintained with our equipment and staff training which includes appropriate Occupational Health & Safety Planning for each individual site investigation; Daily vehicle and machinery check list records; vehicle maintenance records; machinery maintenance logs; machinery Job Safety Analysis; Daily Tool Box Talk records check prior to commencement of each project. Other important aspects of working in Victoria and interstate are having the right competency standards OH&S Red Card (Victoria) under the National Building & Construction Industry (NBCI) guidelines. SRS staff maintain multiple NBCI cards depending on the state they are required to visit.
SRS maintain the appropriate insurance for all projects including Machinery and vehicle Insurance; Public & Products Liability Insurance; Professional Indemnity and Workers Compensation Insurance.
